State bar council issues notices to 16 lawyers over alleged ‘bench hunting’

The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has issued notices to sixteen lawyers, including two senior advocates, following allegations of bench hunting in a case involving real estate developer Roop Bansal. A suo motu inquiry was initiated after media reports and court observations suggested manipulation of the bench allocation process.
