Subansiri project: Spiral casing installation of Unit 7 marks new milestone

Work on the 2000-MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) has resumed with the spiral casing installation of Unit 7. The project, which faced an eight-year suspension due to environmental and social concerns, received renewed environmental clearance in 2019. Once fully operational, the project is expected to significantly boost India’s renewable energy capacity and improve electricity access in the Northeast.
