Tamil Nadu govt announces G Venkataraman as head of police force

G Venkataraman is the new Head of Police Force in Tamil Nadu. He succeeds Shankar Jiwal. Jiwal retired on Sunday. Venkataraman is a 1994-batch IPS officer. He hails from Nagapattinam. Vinit Dev Wankhede is the director of the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation. Shailesh Kumar Yadav is retiring on August 31. Venkataraman is the 33rd DGP of the state.
