TN special SI murder case: Main accused Manikandan shot dead in encounter

A Special Sub Inspector, Saravana Kumar, was fatally hacked near Udumalpet after responding to a distress call about a family dispute on farmland linked to an AIADMK MLA. While attempting to mediate, he was attacked by a father and his two sons. One son, Manikandan, initially escaped but was later apprehended.
