Trial delayed due to cops, absent judges and prosecutors: Umar Khalid in Supreme Court

Umar Khalid and other Delhi riot accused, jailed for over five years, told the Supreme Court that the Delhi Police’s four-year investigation caused the delay. They argued that the principle of ‘bail is rule, jail is exception’ has been undermined, citing numerous adjournments due to judicial and prosecutorial unavailability.
