A Chinese woman, Li Jin Meiyi, has been sentenced to eight years in prison and fined Rs 50,000 by a Bahraich court for illegally entering India via the Indo-Nepal border. She was apprehended on December 2, 2023, at an SSB checkpost in Rupaidiha without valid authorization to enter the country.
