Arun from Udupi fell victim to a work-from-home scam initiated via Telegram, where he was promised earnings for rating hotels. Initially, he earned Rs 800, but the scam escalated as he was coerced into paying increasing amounts under the guise of completing tasks and unfreezing his account.
