What lies under: A massive hot blob is approaching New York city; here’s what it means
A massive, heated rock formation, dubbed the ‘hot blob’ or Northern Appalachian Anomaly (NAA), is situated 200 km beneath the northeastern US. Scientists believe this 355 km wide anomaly formed around 80 million years ago and is slowly drifting towards New York City at a rate of 19 km per million years.
